  1. Please look into what happens to engine mounts in direct contact with zip ties. They will eat into the metal. If the zip ties are temporary, then my apologies.

    • Hi Jay, thanks for the comment. Always good to have folks watching out for you! Yes, that zip tie is permanent to keep that wire bundle in place. Please note however that it is both a Tefzel high temp zip tie, but more importantly it is actually covered with clear heat shrink so that the hard plastic is not directly against the engine mount tube. I personally know a number of homebuilders, canards and RVs, that have employed this method and none have shown any issue or damage to the engine mount. Now, that being said, personally I would never use a bare zip tie on the engine mount. Moreover, these will be getting checked every annual condition inspection.
