  1. Hey Wade, what is the depth of your mounting tabs? They look about 0.5″??
(I have some 1/4″ G10 sheet that two ply of might work out – could do three ply just as easily…)
It seems that you have 5mt glued on, then floxed either side, made nice transitions and then covered this with one ply of BID without overlapping the front face of the strut. Is this right? Would you do anything differently on this part?

    • Hey Dave!

I just measured them and the top ones are between 0.5″ to 0.55″ thick, and the bottom ones are 0.45″ to 0.5″ thick. Your synopsis is correct my friend. Obviously these haven’t been flight tested, but as of now I wouldn’t do anything different. I did notice when there’s weight on the nose wheel you get a very slightly buckling of the G10 fairing plate between top/middle and middle/bottom attach points. Maybe 0.07″ at it the apex. Very slight and only noticeable if actually looking at it from the side. Although, not surprising and I’m sure it goes away when the gear is retracted and the fairing plate is under slight spring tension against the nose.

      Cheers,
      Wade
